Autism Information and Supports
Autism SA’s Autism Information and Support service provides information, guidance and connection for autistic people, families, carers, professionals and the wider community.
People contact Autism SA for many different reasons. Some are just beginning to seek information about autism. Others have recently received a diagnosis, are preparing for the NDIS, have received an NDIS plan, or are looking for the right services and supports at a particular point in time.
You do not need to know exactly which service you need before contacting us. Our team can listen to your enquiry, provide relevant information, and help identify the most appropriate next step. This may include Autism SA services, mainstream and community supports, NDIS-related pathways, or other resources relevant to your circumstances.
The key entry point for Autism Information and Supports is through our Infoline.

Newly Diagnosed Supports
A new autism diagnosis can bring a range of questions about what it means, what supports may be available, and what steps may be helpful next.
Newly Diagnosed Supports are available for autistic people who have recently received a diagnosis, as well as parents, carers, partners or support people assisting them.
This service provides person-centred guidance in the early stages after diagnosis. Our team can help you understand available supports, connect with relevant resources, consider mainstream and community services, and explore whether NDIS access or other funded supports may be relevant.
Support may include information about Autism SA services, free and funded support options, Medicare, Centrelink, NDIS eligibility and application pathways, and other services that may align with your needs, goals and circumstances.
NDIS Pre-Planning Support
NDIS Pre-Planning Support is available for autistic people preparing for their first NDIS planning meeting.
This service can help you think through your goals, support needs, daily life, current challenges and the types of services that may support your wellbeing, independence and participation. Our team can also provide information about what to expect in a planning meeting and what evidence or information may be useful to gather beforehand.
The purpose of this support is to help you prepare for the meeting and feel more able to describe your needs, goals and circumstances clearly.
NDIS Post-Planning Support
NDIS Post-Planning Support is available for autistic people who have received an NDIS plan and would like support to understand their next steps.
Our team can help you understand your plan, consider the types of supports and services that may fit your goals and funding, and identify practical next steps. This may include information about support coordination, plan management, Autism SA services, community supports, mainstream services and other providers.
Where appropriate, we can help identify referral pathways and provide general information about beginning to use your plan. We can also provide general guidance if you are unsure whether your plan meets your needs or if you need information about review or dispute pathways.
