The Autism SA Training, Consultancy and Research Team has more than a century of experience in working with individuals on the spectrum, their families and wider support teams in a range of settings.

We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and experience by facilitating workshops and training programs informed by research and the community are designed to be practical and engaging.

In addition to our training team, the Autism SA allied health teams also deliver a number of clinical workshops and training programs.

Niki Welz

Training, Consultancy and Research Manager

Niki has a background in special education and educational philosophy. She has worked for over a decade in developing the wider community’s understanding of autism, and its confidence in supporting people on the autism spectrum, through the development of training programs, research and resources. As the manager of the Training, Consultancy and Research Team, Niki is passionate about research informing practice, accessibility and inclusion.

Kate Exner

Training & Consultancy Coordinator

Kate has a background in behavioural science and has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families for more than a decade. She has a passion for person-centred practice, and ensuring an individual’s strengths and passions are used when developing skills. Kate has developed and implemented hundreds of high-quality, tailored support packages for the wider community as part of her role as the Training and Consultancy Coordinator.

Lexie Dryden

Training and Consultancy Presenter

Lexie has more than twenty years’ experience working in the autism sector, and more than thirty years in the disability sector. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge and experience with others to increase their understanding of autism, and to use strategies that support individuals to reach their full potential. She has significant experience in developing and implementing a range of state and national based training programs for the wider community.

Louise Williams

Training and Consultancy Presenter

Louise has a background in special education teaching in a range of settings, including remote learning, and has worked in the educational field supporting the needs of students on the autism spectrum for more than two decades. She has gained extensive experience in working with wider support teams to identify and implement practical strategies to support individuals to reach their full potential in the education, early learning and workplace environments. Louise has a passion for sharing her experience through the facilitation of workshops and training programs.

Emma Bennett

Training, Consultancy and Research Administrator

Emma has a strong background in both human resources and administration, and has been supporting the Training and Consultancy team for the past 5 years to develop and implement high quality training programs for the wider autism community.

Erica Handley

Training and Consultancy Presenter

Erica has a background in high school teaching and special education. She has worked in educational settings, including as a behaviour coach in the public and private sectors, for more than three decades. As a highly skilled and passionate facilitator, Erica has developed and presented thousands of workshops and training programs over the past 30 years, with a focus on upskilling participants to feel more confident in supporting people on the autism spectrum.

Zoran Bekric

Training and Consultancy Presenter

Zoran is autistic with a passion for screen writing and research in the autism field. He has gained extensive experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions for a range of audiences, and is passionate about increasing participants’ true understanding of autism.
