An enduring partnership
For over 20 years staff at Baiada have been supporting Autism SA, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars over the lifetime of the partnership – and over $70,000 in the last three years alone.
The partnership began around the turn of the century. The person who owned the business at the time had an autistic relative and wanted to support an organisation that helped autistic people. Thus began a legacy that has lasted for over two decades.
Dada Hu, Baiada General Manager SA, says that staff appreciate being able to help autistic children and adults through their contributions.
“Our staff know this is a good cause that we have supported for a long period of time. They want to keep the tradition going.”
He says that staff feel positive from being able to help others.
“We have been developing a culture where people care for each other at work, as well as fulfilling our social obligations to society for the common good. By supporting a worthy charity like Autism SA, people feel they are actually doing a good thing, not just saying it.”
Staff have the option to make donations through their pay, as well as participate in lunchtime fundraising activities like raffles, with proceeds going to Autism SA and other chosen charities.
Baiada have also been long time supporters of our staff recognition and awards night, allowing us to honour and celebrate the people who dedicate their careers to helping improve the lives of autistic people.
Autism SA couldn’t improve inclusion and accessibility for autistic South Australian’s without the support of donors. Autism SA is grateful for the enduring partnership with Baiada and their commitment to helping us ensure that each person on the autism spectrum can live the life they choose in an inclusive society.
