Training at Autism SA

Our team of professionals have extensive experience in working with individuals, in teams and presenting training and workshops to other professionals.

Autism SA’s team is made up of autistic individuals/individuals on the spectrum, allied health professionals (speech pathologists, behaviour practitioners, occupational therapists, social workers and developmental educators) and educators.

There are three styles of training that you can access from Autism SA – Presentations, Workshops and Customised Training. You can read more about these below, or click the button to request training now.

Presentations

Autism SA’s presentations are an affordable approach to accessing the most up to date information about understanding autism, neurodiversity and supporting autistic individuals. For each training presentation, organisations can choose modules from a range of standard topics (including understanding autism, sensory processing, communication and behaviour) to structure their presentation.

The included services for presentations are:

• review of your referral form to understand your organisation’s support needs
• collation of up to date and specific training content to address your needs
• facilitation of training sessions with flexible delivery modes, including face to face (at your organisation or at Autism SA location) or online

The training content that is collated will include theoretical knowledge and key practical support strategies specific to your organisation’s setting (for example, educational, workplace or community organisation). Workshops

Autism SA’s workshops are an affordable approach to accessing the most up to date information about understanding autism, neurodiversity and supporting autistic individuals, with the addition of facilitated workshop activities to provide opportunities for practical application of strategies.

For each training workshop, organisations can choose modules from a range of standard topics (including understanding autism, sensory processing, communication and behaviour support) to structure their workshop.

The included services for workshops are:

• review of your referral form to understand your organisation’s support needs
• collation of up to date and specific training content to address your needs
• activities that complement the chosen content
• facilitation of training sessions with flexible delivery modes, including face to face (at your organisation or at Autism SA locations) or online

The training content that is collated for your organisation will include theoretical knowledge, key practical support strategies specific to your organisation’s setting (i.e., educational, workplace, community organisation, etc.) and workshop activities for practical application within the setting of your organisation.

Customised training

Customised trainings are designed to be flexible training support that is crafted to meet the specific needs of your group or organisation. The content that is developed will be tailored in collaboration with you and may include a combination of theoretical knowledge, key practical support strategies and workshop activities to suit your organisation. Each customised training will be assigned to a team member with the best suited training and experience to meet the needs of your team.

The included services for customised trainings are:

• a consultation session to determine the topics and structure of your training
• development of specific training content to address your needs
• facilitation of training sessions with flexible delivery modes, including face to face (at your organisation or at Autism SA locations) or online
