A Big Announcement — Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) is Here!

A new era for specialist disability and autism employment in South Australia

 

We’re excited to share some big news: from 1 November 2025, a brand-new national program — Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) — will officially replace Disability Employment Services (DES). 

IEA will help create a more inclusive future where people with disability, injury, or health conditions can get the support they need to: 

  • Prepare for work 
  • Find meaningful employment 
  • Maintain their role 
  • Grow their career 

 

What makes IEA different? 

✔️ No time limit – support continues for as long as you need it. 

✔️ More people eligible – including those with very low work capacity (0–7 hrs/week) and those not linked to Centrelink. 

✔️ Tailored, autism-aware support – services designed around your skills, goals, and pace. 

✔️ Employers supported too – with training, workplace adjustments, and incentives to build inclusive workplaces. 

✔️ Focus on long-term outcomes – not just quick placements, but lasting employment where people thrive.

ProActiv People is proud to lead the delivery of IEA’s autism-specific employment program in South Australia, bringing expertise in employment support and workforce engagement. 

We are joined by Autism SA as our specialist autism partner, ensuring autistic jobseekers and their families receive services shaped by a team that truly understands autism and champions inclusion.

  • Support families along the journey

ProActiv People delivers IEA autism-specialist services across Adelaide: 

  • Northern: Elizabeth, Salisbury, Modbury, Gawler 
  • Southern: Tonsley, Christies Beach 
  • Western: Port Adelaide, Seaton

This is the beginning of something new. Inclusive Employment Australia is not DES — it’s built differently, with autistic people, families, and employers at the centre.
