Recording of the three part home based learning series
Listen in as Louise takes families that attended the ‘Home based learning’ webinars live through a range of tips and strategies, and guides them through troubleshooting. The live sessions have been recorded and are now available for a limited time as a package – all three webinars for the price of one!

Home based learning 101-103 is a three part series in response to the alterations to the start of the 2022 school year. The series offers three 1.5 hour online sessions for parents who would like information and an opportunity to trouble shoot home learning. Read more below about each recording that you will receive as part of this series.

Home based learning 101 – setting up a successful learning space
There are many benefits to your home learner and you as a home learning support person to having an appropriate and effective space set up. Autistic people generally prefer consistent, well organised and sensory supportive spaces. The presenter, Louise, talks about where in the home to set up your space, why a designated space, what to include and how to modify the space to support sensory needs.

Your presenter Louise Williams has personal and professional experience as a mum who home schooled her children for 8 years through distance education, a qualified teacher and special educator, a consultant in the Autism SA school program and is currently our prized Training and Consultancy presenter, putting her in a unique position to provide valuable information and trouble shoot with you on how to get through home learning!

Home based learning 102 – how to best structure your day for engagement
Following routines, structure and rules is often a strength for autistic learners, learn how to support and use these strengths to everyone’s advantages.  Louise talks about what learning tasks to start with and why, how to provide adequate and effectives breaks and when you might want to pick your battles.

Home based learning 103 – using your child’s passions and strengths to create success
Strength based learning has many merits, it more effective and more fun! Louise guides you through identifying your child’s strengths and passions and how to utilize, evolve and manipulate these into success in a range of learning domains
