Supporting Adelaide Fringe to be more inclusive

We are so pleased to announce that Autism SA has become an accessibility partner for the 2022 Adelaide Fringe! This partnership is one of many of Autism SA’s peak body activities, advocating for the inclusion of the Autistic community in all aspects of life.

Why are we partnering?
As this is the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, this year with over 1087 shows, 350 venues, 13 genres and over 6000 artists participating in the event! As part of the partnership, we have developed an online education pack for all venues and artists, in order to increase understanding of autism, and how they can make their event or venue more inclusive. The Adelaide Fringe staff have also committed to further training to build their understanding and we look forward to implementing ongoing initiatives each year.

As part of the Adelaide Fringe’s commitment to inclusion, an Accessible Fringe guide has been produced, which will be available to view and download online, with physical copies also available at many points across the state. Autism SA is proudly featured in both guides. We hope to have some physical copies of both guides at our sites

in the near future.

We’d love to hear from you!
We’d love your feedback to help us to improve accessibility at the Adelaide Fringe in the future. Grab a guide at your nearest centre, check out the shows, and let us know how inclusive the show you went to was to attend. We’d also love to know what changes you’d like to see for the future years.
