I have been privileged to participate in the annual Recognition Awards of Autism SA, and have seen at first hand the positive achievements and impact made by the Autism Spectrum Community in South Australia. Meeting individuals diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families has been inspirational and humbling.
With more than 67 people per month being diagnosed with an ASD by Autism SA, there can be no doubt of the need for the organisation's services, both in the metropolitan and regional areas. The South Australian community highly values the work of Autism SA, which actively promotes knowledge, understanding and acceptance of the disorder, and strives to deliver specialised services and support to affected individuals and families.
I am proud to be the Patron of Autism SA and look forward to my ongoing association.
