Autism : an introduction
A workshop exploring the nature and characteristics of autism. During this session participants learn about the complexities of autism and how this impacts on individuals and their families. There will be opportunities to discover the characteristics of autism and to learn about practical strategies that can help individuals with behaviour, sensory difficulties and communication.
This is a three hour session offered on the following date: Wednesday 17 November 9.30am-12.30pm

Asperger syndrome: an introduction
Asperger syndrome is part of the autism spectrum. Participants will gain a good understanding of Asperger syndrome and will receive information about practical strategies to assist individuals and their families. The session examines the effects of Asperger Syndrome on an individual's social, communication, and behavioural development, and identifies the challenges that these individuals face.
This is a three hour session offered on the following dates: Wednesday 25 August 9.30am-12.30pm or Monday 29 November 9.30am-12.30pm

Family Workshops
Spectrum Advisory Services presents workshops for families registered for services with Autism SA. Topics include introductory sessions, behaviour, social skills and independent living.
All sessions are held at Autism SA, 262 Marion Road, Netley and are $10 (inc GST) per family, payable at the door. To register call the Info Line on 1300 288 476.
